Lessons learned from OYW-EC Peace Ambassadors: Brussels Conference

Peace Ambassadors Brussels Conference

One Young World, in collaboration with the European Commission and supported by CT-Morse, invites you to join our conference in Brussels

Since 2017, One Young World has been collaborating with the European Commission around capacity building for young leaders in preventing and countering violent extremism. The overall objective of this collaboration has been: empowering young people in developing countries to contribute to preventing and countering violent extremism (P/CVE) in their communities through a variety of programmes and initiatives.

About the event

The conference seeks to highlight the key aspects and successes of this joint collaboration, meet with some of the young leaders involved and hear about the wider impact of their efforts. It aims:

  1. To present the positive results of this partnership with concrete examples of the work achieved.
  2. To meet and hear first-hand about aspects of their engagement in P-CVE and the wider impact of the Peace Ambassadors work.
  3. To highlight the capacity building benefits that a global platform for young leadership can generate through partnerships.

The anticipated outcomes are presenting key aspects of the collaboration, sharing best practice capacity building by young leaders, and highlighting the significance of investing in young people.

The conference hopes to bring together around 50 participants from relevant EU institution services, practitioners as well as organisations working with young people in the P-CVE field among others. If you would like to represent your organisation at the conference, please RSVP below.

18 March 2018 (12:30 – 15:30)

Venue: TBC, Brussels

Registration for the event is currently closed.
