Sheila Redzepi

Vice President for External and Corporate Relations - World Bank Group

Sheila Redzepi is Vice President for External and Corporate Relations at the World Bank Group. Sheila leads the World Bank Group’s efforts to build strategic relationships with foundations, philanthropists, parliamentarians, civil society and other key partners in support of World Bank Group’s mission to end extreme poverty and boost shared prosperity. In this role, Sheila oversees advocacy and corporate communications as well as government relations and legislative affairs in key donor countries.

 

Her responsibilities include management of the World Bank Group’s regional offices and strategic presence in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Israel, Europe and Japan, as well as engagement with the G7, G20 and the OECD. 

 

Sheila joined the World Bank Group from Unilever, where she was Global Vice President for Sustainability Policy and Advocacy. She worked alongside Unilever's CEO managing engagement with industry platforms and international organisations. She also oversaw Unilever’s external affairs offices in Brussels and Washington, D.C., as well as the implementation of the Sustainable Living Plan in Unilever’s Europe region. 

 

In 2017 Sheila was named a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader (YGL). 

 

A Danish national born in the former Yugoslavia, Sheila earned her Masters of Philosophy in Media Studies from the University of Bergen, Norway, as well as a Master of Arts in International Political Economy and a Bachelor of Arts in Modern History and Politics from the University of Sheffield in the UK.
