B Esther Ze Naw grew up in the Shan hilly region in Myanmar which has been plagued by civil conflict for over seven decades. She has seen people flee their homes and become internally displaced, enduring terrible hardships as a result of ongoing violence. Esther is currently a Myanmar Representative of Asia-Pacific Youth, Peace and Security 2017 and a technical team member of National Ethnic Youth Alliance. She started her peace activist journey with Kachin Peace Network Since 2011 and is still an active member of the network as Youth Coordinator, organising peace and humanitarian movements across the country. She co-founded the Candle Mobile Library Foundation in 2012 to bring educational books to children in internal displacement camps. Fifteen mobile libraries have been implemented over the past five years in the Eastern Myanmar region, and over 700 internally displaced children have registered as library members.
