TYSMUN 2024 is centered around the theme: Political Economies of Adaptation: Insights on Power and Justice. This year delegates will delve into the intricate dynamics of climate change adaptation, exploring the intersection of power structures and justice considerations in shaping a sustainable and equitable future.
Objectives
The primary objective of TYSMUN 2024 is to train and build the capacity of at least 150 young professionals in the workings and protocols of the United Nations. The initiative aims to establish a network of 30,000 modern youth diplomats and professionals by 2063, dedicated to advancing youth diplomacy, economic investment linkages, democracy, good governance, climate change adaptation, and sustainable development in Africa and beyond.
Expected Outcomes:
Empowered Youth: Participants gain knowledge and skills to engage in international development, elections, diplomacy, and sustainable business linkages.
Minimized Youth Vulnerability: Strategies developed to minimize youth manipulation and build alliances against hindrances to development.
Increased Youth Appetite for Diplomacy: Stimulate youth interest in diplomacy and motivate them to address societal challenges through diplomatic engagement.
