Neha Dixit is an independent investigative journalist based in New Delhi, India who covers Politics, Gender, and Social Justice in South Asia. She has reported for Al Jazeera, Washington Post, Caravan, The Wire, and others and has won various international and national journalism awards including CPJ International Press Freedom Award 2019. Her investigations, including those on extrajudicial killings by the police and child trafficking have drawn international attention to hate crimes and human rights violations in India. Dixit is currently battling criminal and defamation cases in the Indian courts for her investigations and has been regularly subjected to physical attacks, life, and death threats for her work.
