The ICASA Youth Front is a regional platform made up of youth NGOs, Networks and Organizations what organize youth activities and advocacy campaign prior, during and after ICASA.
The youth front is divided into 4 committees: Media and Communication, Youth Preconference, Youth Pavilion, and the Advocacy committee.
This year ICASA will be held in Addis Ababa Ethiopia from 1st to 8th December.
Ibrahim Toimimou was elected as the Chairman of the Media and Communication Committee, and has to elaborate a communication strategy what can ensure youth visibility during the conference and make the voice of young people loudly heard.
It includes the selection and the training for youth journalists, spokespeople and reporters, the elaboration of communication materials (Posters, Banners, T-shirts, Flyers etc.), the creation of the youth website and social media profiles, and the organization of youth press conferences.
As an owner of a web and graphic design agency, all communication materials including the website was made free of charges for the Youth Front by my agency.
The youth program of ICASA will start on 1st December 2011 with a three days youth preconference, and many activities including skills building, networking, and advocacy campaign will be organized within the youth pavilion during the main conference (4-8 December 2011).
