In 2022, One Young World partnered with the Dominican Republic Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Mipymes (MICM) for the first time, to launch the Beca Joven Naranja. MICM has created a National Strategy for the Export of Modern Services, a public policy instrument that aims to develop the orange economy and information technology sectors and communication, promoting the development of human talent capabilities and the access of opportunities in international markets.
The Beca Joven Naranja National Prize was established to inspire, build skills and elevate the work of young Dominicans working in the Cultural and Creative Industries.

Winston Cordero
Winston is a professional with 12 years of experience in the entrepreneurship sector. In the midst of the Covid-19 Pandemic, he founded the Abacus Exchange Project, an E-learning institution focused on Fintech innovations. Abacus Exchange provides cutting edge online education in investment and business management. Winston was selected as a winner of the ‘Innovators of Latin America’ by the MIT Review for his work on technological finance and cryptocurrencies.
Laura Polanco
Laura is passionate about education and making education as accessible as possible in the Dominican Republic. She decided to pursue a masters in Neuropsychology and Education to better understand how she could best serve the country’s educational needs. As part of her professional journey, Laura founded Skillbox, an online skills platform that has helped countless students achieve their personal, academic and professional goals.
