Taffan fled the war in Kurdistan as a political refugee during Saddam Hussein’s regime with her mother and sister. Raised in Sweden, she now supports displaced people through the activities of her foundation Taffans Insamlingsstiftelse Till Stöd För Flyktingar (TISFF) and her individual advocacy.
Her latest project, My ISIS Story, uses art to bring together children from different backgrounds who have all fled ISIS, including those children whose fathers have joined ISIS, with the aim of eliminating the cycle of hatred between different ethnic and religious groups affected by the war.
