Mayor of the Hague

Pauline Krikke (1961) has been the mayor of The Hague since 17 March 2017. She began serving the public interest in 1996 when she became municipal executive councillor for Economic Affairs in the Dutch capital Amsterdam. In 2001 she was appointed as mayor of Arnhem by the Crown.

In 2015 she was elected in the Dutch Senate on behalf of the VVD, the liberal party in the Netherlands, but she left office to become mayor of The Hague. Between 2005 and 2013 she also was a member of the International Governing Board of the Red Cross.
