Sam Branson
Social Entrepreneur, Adventurer and Filmmaker
Sam Branson is a social entrepreneur, adventurer and filmmaker.
His passion for adventure and the environment has seen him endure many challenges - most notably embarking on a three-month dogsled expedition to one of the harshest environments known to man - the Arctic. This trip sparked Sam’s desire to create conversations about important topics.
In 2009 Sam founded Sundog Pictures, a production company created with the specific ambition to deliver challenging, entertaining and informative content that tells stories that matter and brings new audiences to important topics. He is on a mission to inspire social change through his work.
Sam sits as a non-executive on the board of Virgin Group and has recently joined Virgin Management to oversee the content distributed across the group.
Sam’s big focus has been the Virgin Strive Challenge. A gruelling attempt to get from London to the summit of the Matterhorn entirely under his own steam. This will entail three back to back marathons, rowing the channel, cycling 900km to Verbier, hiking the Haute Route and climbing the Matterhorn. He is putting together a core team of 10 to complete the entire journey with him and over 300 people will join them along the way. The aim is to raise funds for a charity he co-founded called Big Change to invest in life skills programs around the UK, which will help young people develop the characteristics they need to thrive.
