Join us for this 1-hour session to hear directly from One Young World's senior leaders, Ambassadors who have benefitted from being part of the community, and how to get your company involved. We encourage both members of the Community and non-Ambassadors to participate.
Speakers
Jessica Jones
Jessica is a passionate OYW Ambassador, excited about driving positive, sustainable change using the influence that is held by corporate companies. She attended the OYW Summit in London as a corporate delegate from Bühler, and now co-chairs a OYW working Group on Corporate Grassroots movements, to drive change and ‘intrapreneurship’ through purpose-led internal networks. She is currently driving the strategy and operations of ‘GenerationB’, which is a successful internal, purpose-led movement, inside Bühler. She is passionate about Diversity and Inclusion topics, people and strategy development, and using corporates as a force for good, to inspiring individuals, companies and industries. Jessica has a background in engineering and is enthusiastic about bringing this perspective together with more ‘humanity’ topics, to shape leaders of the future and develop a more sustainable world.
Ivona Kostyna
Ivona is the head of the board at Veteran Hub – an organization, that supports veterans of the war caused Russian aggression in Ukraine on their journey to putting down roots in civilian life. The youngest generation of Ukrainian veterans (2014-present) has up to 397,000 people and growing. Since the opening of Veteran Hub in Kyiv in 2018, the organization has provided over 6000 services, ranging from legal to psychological support, and employment counselling. The hub was visited over 26 000 times and hosted over 1000 community events. Recently, they have expanded to 2 new regions and launched a mobile office to serve veterans in hard-to-reach rural areas. Ivona has worked in the Veterans affairs field for over 5 years, taking part in the Pobratymy organization, the Invictus Games Team Ukraine, Documentary Performance «Me, Veteran» and many others. In 2018 she was nominated to the top 30 under 30 list by Kyiv Post.
Martine Irakoze
Martine is a Burundian MasterCard Scholar at the University of Edinburgh in International Relations & International Law. She attended One Young World Summit 2019 as a Leading Africa Scholar. She is passionate about African youth development, gender equality, and racial justice. In 2019, Martine cofounded Linda, a social enterprise that tackles sexual reproductive health issues among teenagers in Kenya. After the summit, she was inspired to bring together African youth diaspora in Edinburgh and founded the first-ever Model African Union Society in the UK. As a One Young World Ambassador, she also runs One Young World Edinburgh chapter which is a platform to lead on uncomfortable conversations and drive social changes in our community. Lastly, Martine is one of the founders and directors of BlackED Movement, which is an initiative to end the existing racist culture at the University.
Rishi Dorai
Rishi Dorai joined bp as a geoscientist in 2012. During his first seven years with the company, Rishi worked in the Exploration & Production division on projects across Europe, Africa and the Middle East. In 2019, Rishi transitioned into the strategy team as a Carbon Management Analyst. In this role, he has been deeply involved in the framing of bp’s net-zero ambition and new company strategy, as well as developing bp’s new sustainability frame. Rishi also co-leads bp’s global One Young World programme, representing the company at recent summits in Bogota (2017), The Hague (2018) and London (2019). Rishi holds a Master’s degree in Petroleum Geoscience from Imperial College London.
Alex Bellotti
Alex Bellotti is Managing Director and Executive Board Member of One Young World, the global forum for young leaders. Alex oversees funding and partnerships, acting as the global point of contact for senior-level stakeholders at partner organisations. Alex graduated from the University of Warwick with honours and after a brief stint in fashion photography, focused on a career in civil society to pursue his passion and purpose. Alex is a strong advocate of social justice and a firm believer in the role the private sector can play in addressing the unequal distribution of resources and opportunities in society today. Alex is an international speaker and has featured in some of the world's most prestigious events. In 2019, he spoke at the UN during the General Assembly in New York and at the Enactus World Cup Finals in California. Alex is also the Co-Founder of the CGYO (Council of Global Youth Organisations), bringing together top leaders and decision-makers from the world's largest global communities of young change-makers to accelerate impact.
Safoora Biglari
Safoora is the Director of Community at One Young World. She is responsible for maintaining engagement with OYW's key stakeholders and its community of over 12,000 Ambassadors who are affecting positive change across every sector, in every country in the world. Safoora and her team create and connect Ambassadors with growth opportunities, bespoke programmes, leadership development, media visibility and impact measurement. Since 2019, they have brought together over 10,000 young people in their programming. Collectively, OYW Ambassadors have impacted 26 million people to date.
Saida Ibrahimava
Saida Ibrahimava has more than 15 years of successful experience in the nonprofit sector and the youth development field. She leads the school for early social entrepreneurs in a capacity of a trainer and the co-founder of "Youth to Youth Initiative”(Y2Y) - an international youth-led organisation that focuses on youth development and leadership education. She is a graduate of Charles University in Prague, JST and UNAOC Fellowship alumna, HKFYG CoCreators trainer and social campaign designer. Since 2016, Saida has served as a Coordinating Ambassador for Eastern Europe/Asia region.
