With the current global trend, we have seen how the intersection of technology and the need for information access is shaping the world from politics, to health, activism, religion and relationships to our everyday lives. 

The aim of this session is to expose participants to the future of Media and Information Literacy, learn how its transforming lives,  and what role you can play to maximise present and future opportunities. Additionally, the session will help generate new knowledge on the pivotal role of MIL in  empowering participants to navigate the  evolving digital landscape and raise awareness towards innovative MIL Initiatives.

Speaker Profiles

  • Dr. Seyi Soremekun: Communication Specialist with experience in Broadcasting, Marketing Communication, Corporate Communication, Development Communication and Public Information. Dr. Seyi is the current National Information Officer at the UN Information Centre (UNIC) Nigeria, and former National Programme Officer for Communication and Information at UNESCO Nigeria.
  • Enodi Audu: Senior software engineer at a UK-based aviation analytics company. With a rich background in various tech sectors, including Fintech, EdTech, and the Travel industry, she has experience working in both established firms and startups. Throughout her career, Enodi has contributed to building and scaling innovative products, drawing on her expertise to drive impactful solutions.
  • Ruhamah Ifere: Founder of Trully Verify Africa, committed to combating misinformation and disinformation through media literacy and technology-driven solutions. Through The Youth Evolve Pillar of Trully Verify Africa, she is advocating for the active inclusion of young women and girls in leadership and speaking out against Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV).
