How do we prepare 100 million futures for a world of opportunity?

Education is a cornerstone of sustainable development – it empowers and uplifts individuals, nations, and society. However, the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted students’ education and learning worldwide. Globally, millions of people have been left behind, with an estimated 1.6 billion students being impacted by the pandemic and 24 million children potentially never returning to school. Educational inequality was a global challenge well before COVID, but the pandemic has further widened the learning gap.
Deloitte is committed to expanding opportunities for 100 million people by 2030 by developing job skills, improving educational outcomes, and providing opportunities for individuals from underrepresented and marginalized groups around the world to realize success. In line with this ambition, Deloitte is proud to support the Lead2030 Challenge for SDG4 to accelerate innovative youth-led solutions that create inclusive, equitable, and quality education for all.
About imagiLabs
imagiLabs is an edtech startup building tools to equip and empower the next diverse generation of technologists. If technology is the future, then women need to be equally involved in order to shape the future. However, women currently make up less than 30% of the tech workforce. imagiLabs is addressing this gap by targeting 300 million pre-teen girls worldwide, with the goal of encouraging them to start coding.
With imagiLabs, creating and playing with code becomes fun and relevant for 8 to 13-year-old girls. The imagi app turns learning how to code into a creative and social experience, through which beginners can level up their skills and share their projects with a supportive and growing community of imagiCoders. This experience is enhanced by the imagiCharm, a programmable companion that can be customized through the imagi app.
imagiLabs’ partners include Black Girls Code, Stemettes, Hour of Code, and the National Math and Science Initiative. The founding team was recently recognized among the Forbes 30 under 30 Social Entrepreneurs in Europe, and the imagi app was featured in a WIRED piece on Coding Games for Girls.
