One Young World co-founder Kate Robertson says: "We are very pleased with what is an exciting shortlist of host cities for the One Young World Summit 2014. All three cities have submitted strong initial bids and demonstrated that they share the core beliefs of One Young World on the importance of youth leadership." [[[image-2 right medium]]]
Previous One Young World Summits have taken place in London, Zurich and most recently Pittsburgh USA. This year, the Summit will make its first appearance in Africa, taking place in Johannesburg, South Africa, from 2-5 October.
Setting a challenge to prospective bidders Kate Robertson says: "What we are looking for in the final bidding stage is a city that is both culturally vibrant and youthful in spirit. One Young World needs a host city that embraces the scope and scale of our ambitions to enact change through the leadership of outstanding young people."
