On 19 September, One Young World and the High Commission of Canada hosted a reception in celebration of the UK delegation for the One Young World Summit in Ottawa. The event provided an opportunity to connect with One Young World's UK delegates, Ambassadors, supporters and Counsellors ahead of the 2016 Summit.
Held at the iconic Canada House, Janice Charette, High Commissioner to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, opened the event with warm remarks about the upcoming Summit. She expressed that 'diversity is one of Canada's greatest strengths', and encouraged delegates to achieve great impact with their endeavours.
Kate Robertson, co-founder of One Young World, thanked Ambassadors for their continued support and work in their respective fields, and implored delegates to 'lead the change they wish to see' around the world. She stated that 'One Young World is not a youth summit- it is about leadership.'
Thank you to those who attended the reception.
