The United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) Youth Forum kicks off today, bringing together young leaders from around the world to the UN Headquarters in New York. The official theme of the Forum is “the role of youth in building sustainable and resilient urban and rural communities.”
This two-day event will feature plenary sessions, interactive thematic and regionally-based discussions and region perspectives, and provide an opportunity for a rich exchange of views and ideas on innovative solutions to issues of relevance to young people and the implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, structured around the sustainable development goal under review in the the Economic and Social Council and the High-level Political Forum in 2017.
