Grace Nalugwa is the Founder and CEO of Gracela Ventures Limited, a renewable energy business providing carbonized briquettes made from organic waste to households, schools, and hotels as an alternative cooking fuel for charcoal and firewood. She is 2024 Jim Leech Mastercard Foundation Entrepreneurship Fellow, President – Makerere University Entrepreneurship Students Association, 2022 Mandela Washington Fellow with Professional Experience in the bioenergy circular economy addressing anerobic digestion (production of biochar and biofuel from organic waste), food production and wastewater treatment from University of Maryland - USA Department of Environment, Science and Technology and was awarded as an Ecological Engineer by practice. Grace is the Chairperson of Kyanaka Smallholder Farmers Association, promoting sustainable farming, improved productivity and livelihood among smallholder farmers in the arid districts of Nakaseke, Luweero and Nakasongola; General Secretary – KOICA Club of Uganda, an umbrella organization for all Ugandans who have studied in South Korea; 2018 Ugandan CIAT best practice Ugandan award winner; 2016 Pakasa Young Entrepreneurs awardee; and General Secretary – Wakiso District Metropolitan Development Forum.
