Maram Suleiman

Maram is a youth and women’s rights activist and a gender specialist with several years of experience in humanitarian and development work throughout the MENA region. Maram Suleiman is a regional program officer for the MEPI Alumni Connection in IREX's Leadership Practice. In this role, Maram manages a portfolio of relationships with 2000 youth leaders in the MENA region and partner institutions and provides high-level support to program design and implementation for MENA-based individual clients and client associations. The MEPI Alumni Connection creates a sustainable network of entrepreneurial alumni leaders who inspire and facilitate civic engagement and enterprise.
Prior to IREX Maram worked at the Gender Justice program at Oxfam in Jordan, where she contributed to the program development, partner coordination, and grant management. And worked at Human Relief Foundation for several years before that focusing on refugees.


Maram is a professional mentor and trainer who has led trainings through national and international organizations in gender, youth development, and women’s rights. Maram is a certified World Youth Alliance member, where she advocates and stands up for the dignity of each person and does public speaking for local, regional, and global conferences and events.


Her work history, her experiences as a MEPI Alumna of the Leaders for Democracy Fellowship, and Erasmus alumni, and her focus on community collaboration have led to her participation in local and international alliances, volunteer opportunities, and community leadership roles.
