Anoka Abeyrathne

Anoka Abeyrathne is a multi-awarded eco-social entrepreneur and advocate with prior experience with the UN, USAID and the British Council. Her work revolves around conservation justice, community education and youth empowerment - including organic farming, endangered species conservation and community digital upskilling. Her petition on the Animal Welfare Bill garnered over 129,000 signatures in 2019 and led to the Bill being approved by the cabinet after 10 years of languishing in lower parliament. She is a Asia’s Top Sustainability Superwoman, Forbes under 30 awardee, Sri Lanka’s first female World Economic Forum New Champion, OYW Ambassador, first Sri Lankan female Commonwealth Youth Award recipient from HM the Queen and a British Council International Climate Champion. Anoka is an alumni of the University of Cambridge’s Judge Business School and an accredited lawyer.
