Danny Sriskandarajah
CEO of Oxfam GB
Dr. Dhananjayan 'Danny' Sriskandarajah is the CEO of Oxfam GB, whose purpose is to help create lasting solutions to the injustice of poverty. Prior to this role, he was the Secretary General of CIVICUS, the global civil society alliance. His other posts have included Director of the Royal Commonwealth Society, Interim Director of the Commonwealth Foundation, and Deputy Director of the Institute for Public Policy Research. In addition to his work at Oxfam, he has written for a number of major publications, including The Guardian, The Financial Times, and The New York Times. He also sits on several boards, including those of the Baring Foundation, International Alert and Ockenden International, and has been a consultant to several international organisations.
The author of numerous reports and academic articles on international migration and economic development, Danny aims to promote through his work Britain's status as an international crossroad, often commenting on its ability to promote human mobility and multiculturalism. A regular commentator on issues related to international development, he has been recognised for his contributions to the field of international development and civil society, being awarded a CBE (Commander of the Order of the British Empire) in 2021 for his services to the sector.
