David Willima is a Research Officer on maritime security at the Institute for Security Studies in the Pretoria office. Prior to joining the ISS, David worked for the Environmental Learning and Research Centre at Rhodes University in South Africa as a research assistant on the One Ocean Hub Project. After that he joined Caritas-Zambia as an election monitoring provincial coordinator in the Democracy and Governance Unit. In April 2022, David participated as one of the 28 International youth Delegates and one of two youth delegates from Africa at the 7th Our Ocean Conference co-hosted by the U.S government and Palau in koro, Palau and has spoken at previous One Young World- Southern Africa Events.
