Dr. Atish Shah
Delegate Speaker for the Health Plenary Challenge
Dr Atish Shah is a medical doctor working in the intensive care unit and a graduate in biomedical engineering residing in Tanzania. Though his company Roverlabs is based in Tanzania, he and his team have won numerous accolades for their innovations in the healthcare industry. Innovating cost-effective medical devices to help empower communities in resource-poor countries with life-changing solutions is his true passion. He also lectures undergraduate biomedical engineering students in Tanzania.
His ideas have earned him numerous awards. Dr Shah won the Reimagine scholarship of the Schmidt Futures by Eric Schmidt. He has also been shortlisted by the Royal Academy of Engineering for his company’s initiative to produce a locally manufactured,3D-printed Myoelectric hand for upper-limb amputees.
Dr Shah continues to research and innovate, leading his team at the interface of medicine and technology to bring new ideas to life for the greater good of communities.
