Durga Sapkota
Co-founder, Youth Led SRHR Advocacy Nepal (YoSHAN)
Durga Sapkota is a One Young World Ambassador, health advocate and nurse by profession. She has a Masters in Nursing, with specialisation in women’s health and development. Durga has more than 5 years of cross-cultural and progressive experiences in clinical and development sectors working with rural and urban dwellers, multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural organisations in strengthening health system of the country.
Because of her significant contribution at community level, Durga was one of the 100 outstanding nurses recognised by Women in Global Health and WHO in 2020. In 2019 she was selected among 12 resilient frontline health workers by Johnson and Johnson for her remarkable contribution in health system strengthening.
Durga has been awarded by Women Deliver for her remarkable work as a change maker in the lives of women and girls. She is the co-founder of the organisation YoSHAN, which works on issues related to Sexual and Reproductive Health, Rights and Justice.
