Maisy Lus
Executive Director
Maisy originates from Papua New Guinea. She is the Executive Director of the Fish Reef Project PNG, a non-profit organisation specialised in constructing and deploying concrete artificial reefs with the vision to see ocean life thrive. Maisy’s role involves surveying the best reef sites around PNG, engaging with local communities, monitoring the reefs, and deploying reefs where they can best serve both the oceans and humans equally. Food security is becoming more critical and she is confident that the ocean life provided by the reefs will help provide sufficient food to sustain the livelihoods of people in her coastal and Island communities. Maisy holds a bachelor's degree in Chemistry from the University of Papua New Guinea with research interests in ocean acidification, artificial reefs and pristine coral reef structures to aid in the design of concrete artificial reefs. She aspires to be a leading STEM researcher in the region.
