Mejda Khaled, CEO and Co-founder of AGARUW and serial entrepreneur. A textile and environmental engineer, holding a master’s degree in Impact Entrepreneurship. Aiming to revolutionise the manufacturing and sustainability industry by merging recycling technology with creativity and offering an ecosystem through our matchmaking marketplace, brand, and Hub for recycling textile and solid waste into eco-friendly innovative products crafted by local artisans and designers. Working since 2019 closely with marginalised communities, to empower them together, reduce textile and solid waste, track and reduce CO2 carbon emissions, and promote sustainable practices.

 

Her entrepreneurial journey is deeply rooted in her passion for sustainability and innovation, driving her to explore new intersections between technology, fashion, health, and agriculture. She is the Co-founder of Ecobees, developing IoT systems to monitor beehives, and also worked as the design director developing 3D printed bionic prosthetics for people with special needs at Cure Bionics.

 

Her work has garnered international attention, leading her to participate in prestigious programmes like the Selected as part of the 50 African Inspiring Women in Tech, COP28 as a speaker, IFC programme Women in Climate, One Young World Ambassador, Swedish Institute She Entrepreneurs, and more, where she has built strong connections with partners to expand her business.

 

A dynamic person, Mejda is committed to fostering creativity and resilience within her community, encouraging new ways of thinking about consumption, production, and environmental stewardship. She continues to collaborate with other young entrepreneurs, making influential waves in the eco-entrepreneurship landscape across Tunisia and beyond.
