Monday 5 September: Opening Ceremony

The Opening Ceremony will be broadcasted live from Manchester at 18:00 BST from The Bridgewater Hall. The show will feature the One Young World Flag Ceremony, music and dance entertainment, Counsellor welcomes and keynote speakers.

The Closing Ceremony will take place at Manchester Central. The ceremony will feature keynote speeches, music and performances. The handover of the Baton to Belfast for 2023 will take place.

Workshops

Workshops will be running during networking breaks in Manchester, on Hubilo, our Digital Platform, as well as across different Regional Hives throughout the Summit. The 2022 Summit Workshops Agenda will be made available to Registered Delegates on Monday 18 July.

Action Sessions

Every year, we run a wide range of issue-focused Action Sessions to provide an open space for Delegates to connect, exchange ideas, and form impactful collaborations around topics relevant to their specific fields of work and expertise.

These sessions are available for all Delegates without prior registration, and will take place both in Manchester and digitally.

They allow Delegates to delve deeper into topics discussed in the agenda, but also explore subjects not covered on stage.

Digital Platform

We are thrilled to launch a groundbreaking Digital Summit experience to deliver our world-renowned agenda to young leaders across the globe!

The platform will not only embrace the plenary topics of the Summit, but create social and cultural touch points for those who are not able to join us on the ground, live in Manchester City.

Our Digital Summit space will have all the live stage content streamed directly to it and host an exclusive collection of thought-provoking, engaging, and energising content.

Networking

Networking will start with monthly sessions ahead of the Summit to welcome Delegates to OYW and allow them to meet and network with fellow Delegates from around the world.

For Delegates attending digitally, networking will continue on the Platform. Delegates will be able to connect with other Delegates through the search function in the app. The networking lounge also provides multiple opportunities for Delegates to connect informally.

For Delegates attending live in Manchester, networking will take place during hotel meetups, break periods and evening events.

Regional Hives

The Regional Hives will be located in different cities around the world for Delegates unable to attend the Summit live, in-person in Manchester. The Regional Hives will have its own agenda of local speakers, Ambassadors and in-person workshops but will join the live Manchester content when time zones connect.
