It all begins with our annual Summit - the beating heart of what we are about. For young leaders, this is the landmark event of the year. It is a chance for the individuals responsible for shaping the future of our world, to come together to confront the biggest challenges facing humanity. The Summit is the ultimate place to be inspired, share, learn, and connect.
But the Summit is not just a life-changing four-day experience, it is just the start of every attendee’s journey with us. Every leader who attends leaves the Summit as a One Young World Ambassador and a valued member of our global community. This is a lifelong membership to one of the most incredible networks in the world.
Our global Community is a community like no other. When we say global, that’s exactly what we mean. It comprises 17,000+ young leaders, partners, and supporters from over 196 countries, spanning every sector and industry. It is comprised of activists, humanitarians, world-leaders, business-leaders, thought-leaders, entrepreneurs, politicians, and innovators.
We partner with 180+ global businesses, NGOs, and educational institutions. Leading companies from every sector make One Young World an integral part of their global talent development, retention, and attraction. They also sponsor and support delegations of fully-funded scholars who are selected for demonstrating outstanding leadership and track records of impact in creating a fair, sustainable future for all.
Every year, we produce an Impact Report to analyse and summarise the social impact of our programmes and our Community.

- Staff are contracted to work a 37.5 hour week (Monday-Friday) office based, however for nine months of the year (outside of the three months leading up to One Young World’s annual Summit) the organisation operates a “Flexible Fridays” policy - provides flexibility to employees on a Friday assuming there are no urgent matters that require their attention.
- Private medical insurance which includes physiotherapy, dental, eye care and mental health support

- Help with commuting - we have a cycle to work scheme and season ticket loans
- Travel to events as necessary

Main responsibilities:
- Support the Digital team by creating and maintaining dynamic web-based systems using Drupal
- Craft digital solutions from technical specifications and client briefs
- Collaborate with the Development team and provide feedback through peer-to-peer code reviews
- Provide consultancy and innovative solutions to briefs
- Provide training and support to in-house content editors
- Be aware of new technologies and concepts that will benefit the department
- Use your experience and knowledge to guide and develop best practice, and improve efficiency and quality
- Support the apprentices in their learning and the completion of their portfolio
This list is not exhaustive and you will be expected to work flexibly and undertake other such duties from time to time as required.
What you will bring:
- Have demonstrable previous commercial experience in a Drupal focussed role
- Be Experienced in the backend development of Drupal websites including custom module and themes
- Have experience with Web Services using both JSON & REST APIs
- Have experience in designing/creating CMS based websites that work for both users and website admins
- Have used component led design with knowledge of Storybook being beneficial
- Writing clean, testable, reusable and well documented code
- Have used tools such as Git/Gitlab for continuous development
- Have built accessible digital products compliant with WCAG2.1 AA
- Drive to contribute to product design and strategy
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Be fluent in English
- Have the legal right to work in the UK
Desirable skills include:
- Experience with Salesforce or other CRM platforms
