The Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation Scholarship
With the Re.Generation initiative, the Foundation along with One Young World will work to empower talented individuals who are committed to protecting the planet to become tomorrow’s leaders and advance global action on contemporary environmental issues. This cohort of young leaders all stand out due to their strong commitment to environmental issues and the tangible impact their work or research is having.
The objectives of the programme are to develop the candidates’ leadership skills, offer them visibility through public speaking opportunities, help them create lifelong connections and expand their worldview so that they can gain a deeper understanding of how to become more impactful leaders.
HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco has been standing out as a pioneer for environmental protection. He is, as head of State, known for his visionary spirit when it comes to support and even be at the root of innovations for a better future. His Foundation has supported more than 700 projects since its inception in 2006 and has always promoted youth’s commitment to planetary health. One Young World looks forward to collaborating with these inspiring young leaders.

Anne-Sophie Roux

Anne-Sophie Roux is an ocean entrepreneur and activist with a background in social and political sciences. She realized that the ocean is our biggest ally to mitigate both the climate and biodiversity crisis and to adapt ourselves to its consequences.
As she took part in the restoration of marine habitats such as coral reefs and mangroves, she witnessed the tremendous impacts it represents for local communities. She then started weaving a network of local communities restoring their coastal ecosystems and created Tēnaka with the ambition to scale these blue solutions to the climate crisis, through impact measurement tools and technologies.
Anne-Sophie Roux was named Young Ocean Leader by the US non-profit Sustainable Ocean Alliance and became their representative for France. She is passionate about making a change for our ocean and believes restoring and preserving its ecosystems- and key functions of carbon sink- is the most efficient way forward.

Imogen Napper

Imogen Napper is a Marine Scientist and National Geographic Explorer. She has been described as a 'Plastic Detective' as her research investigates different sources of plastic pollution in the environment. Her work influenced legislation banning microbeads in facial scrubs, investigated how we are polluting the planet through washing and wearing our clothes, demonstrated that biodegradable plastic bags could still hold a full load of shopping after being submerged in the ocean after 3 years and found the highest microplastics on Earth near Mt. Everest summit.
Additionally, she focuses on how plastic pollution is linked to other environmental issues. Her research shows how small changes can make a big difference and that larger environmental commitments are needed by industry and governments globally. Ms Napper is now researching how we can use our knowledge from the mistakes and solutions used for the management of the Ocean to protect Earth's orbit.

Gunjan Menon
Wildlife Filmmaker and National Geographic Storytelling Explorer

Gunjan Menon is a wildlife filmmaker, National Geographic Storytelling Explorer & conservation communicator, currently based in Canada. Her work focuses on human-wildlife coexistence and mitigating conflict, featuring some of the most endangered species on earth.
Over the last decade, she has been recognized with over 50 awards & nominations across 15 countries. Her work has been broadcast on Nat Geo Wild, Disney+ Hotstar, BBC Earth, Animal Planet, and other local Indian platforms. Two of her shorts have been selected for Jackson Wild’s World Wildlife Day Film Showcase and her critically acclaimed short film ‘The Firefox Guardian(2018)', also shortlisted for a student BAFTA, tells the story of a local guardian in Nepal and her love for red pandas. The film still travels to renowned film festivals and schools, starting a dialogue on ecofeminism and raising funds for red panda conservation worldwide.
Gunjan Menon is also a storytelling mentor to emerging filmmakers, women& scientists, leading workshops on conservation filmmaking and science storytelling. In 2020 she co-founded ‘Beyond Premieres’, which focuses on impact-driven films and helps emerging filmmakers harness the power of storytelling.

Pedro David Fernandez

Pedro David Fernandez is an agricultural engineer, who always has been interested in how to make food systems more sustainable. Coming from Argentina, where ranching is a key land-use activity, he realized that there are large impacts connected to cattle production, but also huge and often unrealized potentials for making ranching more climate-smart.
He is aiming to contribute to the much-needed transition to sustainability of ranching sectors; to help them mitigate instead of drive climate change. During his almost 8 years working in science, he also realized the need to properly communicate research to have concrete impacts on the environmental goals. For that reason, Mr. Fernandez has been working with policymakers for governmental decisions, and with land managers through consultancy, to influence changes in practices.

Federico Perez

Federico is an innovative social entrepreneur and environmental advocate with a commitment to addressing global climate challenges. He is the Founder and CEO of a company that streamlines nature-based solutions to promote social equity and combat deforestation in Latin America.
Additionally, he has advanced public policies to support market-based mechanisms as a consultant for the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and the International Trade Center (ITC) of the United Nations. Building on his work at the ITC, he is also designing a tech and climate startup accelerator in Colombia along with the Government of South Korea.
An active member of his local community in Colombia and recognised as an IUCN Young Changemaker, Federico has spoken at organizations like the Institute for Global Economics, the Geneva Graduate Institute, UNCTAD, and the ITC.
He has received fellowships and scholarships from the U.S. Department of State, UK Royal Academy of Engineering, Westerwelle Foundation, Harvard Kennedy School, Yale School of the Environment, Oxford, MIT, Michigan State University, and the University of Chicago. Federico holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Michigan State University and a MicroMasters degree from MIT in Supply Chain Management.
