Terms and Conditions

One Young World Limited and its affiliates (collectively “One Young World”) welcomes and grants membership to your employees, agents, contractors, or any other person you select or otherwise on whose behalf you accept these terms and conditions (collectively, “You”/”Your”), to the One Young World Community.

The highlight of the Community calendar is the Annual One Young World Global Summit, which brings together not only a physical gathering but also a virtual gathering of young leaders from all around the world. 

The One Young World 2023 Summit Belfast is being hosted in and broadcast from Belfast between 2nd - 5th October 2023 (the “Summit”). These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) are entered into by You and One Young World, and form an integral part of the legally binding contract to purchase or donate places for physical (in-person), remote (in-person at a satellite location), or virtual attendance (by online broadcast) at the Summit (Purchase) by You and/or Your selected attendee(s) (“Delegate(s)”).

1. To be eligible to attend the Summit, Delegates must be 18 or over at the time of the Summit and will be asked to present proof of age.

2. All Delegates must register to attend the Summit (“Registration”) via our registration platform no later than the 22 August 2023. Admin fee of £100 per change (EG: Delegate name change) thereafter. Delegates who register after midnight GMT on 22 August 2023 will not be guaranteed any of the following:

  • The chance to attend briefing and onboarding sessions to maximize their Summit experience
  • The option of being in the same hotel as the rest of their delegation
  • The ability to book pre/post nights through One Young World
  • The option to book pre/post nights in the same hotel they are staying in for the core nights of the Summit
  • Airport transfers
  • Catering that take into account dietary requirements
  • The opportunity to apply to be a Delegate Speaker or speak on a panel
  • Their choice in workshop allocation
  • The opportunity for exclusive invitations to mentoring sessions and meet & greets
  • The opportunity to be a Flag Bearer at the Opening Ceremony

3. Please check the accuracy of the information You provide on Your Registration carefully, including any dietary or access requirements, as One Young World cannot be held responsible for errors.

4. Payment terms are immediate from the date of our invoice or donation form or as otherwise agreed by One Young World with You in writing. 

5. One Young World may cancel Your Purchase at any time with immediate effect by giving You written notice if payment is not received in accordance with Clause 4 of these Terms or if in One Young World’s reasonable opinion You are unable to or may be unable to comply with any requirements, including payments.

6. The price per Delegate place is £3,150.00, this includes physical (in-person), remote (in-person at a satellite location), or virtual attendance (by online broadcast). The price is £4,210.00 for physical (in-person) attendance with private accommodation. All prices are subject to the local taxes of the city hosting the Summit (“Host City”), and all payments must be made in Great British Pounds (GBP). The price does not include any flights or other transportation to or from the Summit, which You must arrange at Your own cost.

7. A Delegate ticket includes:

(a) in-person with private accommodation:

  • Hotel accommodation for four nights, for the nights of 2, 3, 4, 5 October 2023.
  • Catering for dinner on 2 October 2023, breakfast, lunch and dinner on 3, 4, 5 October 2023, and breakfast only on 6 October 2023.
  • Ground transportation between accommodations and Summit venues (not within walking distance of each other) on the days of the 2, 3, 4 and 5 October. Transportation out of these dates must be arranged by You at Your own cost.
  • Access to the Summit, Summit hand-outs and support materials.
  • Digital Content Library (a virtual platform of online resources that have been curated to inspire and increase the knowledge of attending Delegates) 

(b) in-person with no accommodation:

  • Catering for dinner on 2 October 2023, and lunch and dinner on 3, 4, 5 October 2023.
  • Ground transportation between Summit venues (not within walking distance) on the days of the 2, 3, 4 and 5 October. Transportation out of these dates must be arranged by You at Your own cost.
  • Access to the Summit, Summit hand-outs and support materials. 
  • Digital Content Library (a virtual platform of online resources that have been curated to inspire and increase the knowledge of attending Delegates)

(c) remotely through a regional hub: 

If travel restrictions are still in place next year, One Young World will host regional hubs in select locations around the world, which will be communicated closer to the time of the Summit. This will include:

  • Presentation stage content (streamed live or recorded depending on the time zone)
  • Interactive stage content (streamed live or recorded depending on the time zone)
  • Interactive workshops and Action Sessions hosted in person at the hubs. These will take place when the Belfast content is not live. 
  • Networking opportunities for those attending the regional hub in person, and virtually over the One Young World app and social media platforms.
  • Digital Content Library (a virtual platform of online resources that have been curated to inspire and increase the knowledge of attending Delegates)

(d) through virtual attendance (attending from anywhere in the world):

  • Presentation stage content (streamed live or recorded depending on the time zone)
  • Interactive stage content (streamed live or recorded depending on the time zone)
  • Virtual interactive workshops and Action Sessions (these will take place when the Belfast content is not live).
  • Networking opportunities virtually over the One Young World app and social media platforms.  
  • Digital Content Library (a virtual platform of online resources that have been curated to inspire and increase the knowledge of attending Delegates)

9. The Summit venues and Delegate accommodations (where a Delegate place with accommodation has been purchased) venues are both subject to change without notice and are only confirmed when joining instructions are sent to Delegates, usually around 6 weeks prior to the Summit. In the event of a change of any Summit venue, One Young World will make reasonable endeavours to provide suitable alternative venues within a reasonable distance of the originally advertised venues. 

10. In certain circumstances, it may be necessary for One Young World to make changes to the content or the timings of the Summit. In the event of it being necessary for One Young World to postpone or change the dates of the Summit, One Young World will provide substitute Delegate places for the new event.

11. In the unlikely event of the Summit being cancelled in its entirety by One Young World, for any reason other than a force majeure, a full refund of Delegate will be made. For the purpose of this clause, “force majeure” means any circumstances not within the reasonable control of One Young World, including, without limitation:

(a) any strike, lockout or other industrial action or any shortage of labour or venues or accommodations;

(b) any destruction, temporary or permanent breakdown, malfunction or damage of or to any premises plant equipment (including computer systems) or material;

(c) any breach of contract, default or insolvency by or of any third party (including an agent or sub-contractor) or an employee or officer of that party or company;

(d) any action was taken by a governmental or public authority of any kind including not granting a consent exemption approval or clearance;

(e) any civil commotion or disorder, an event of national significance (including any day of national mourning), riot, invasion, war, acts of terrorism, the threat of or preparation for war; or

(f) any fire, explosion, storm, flood, earthquake, subsidence, epidemic, pandemic, public health crisis, or other natural physical disasters.

12. For the avoidance of doubt, One Young World is not liable to You or any third party for any other costs or damages, direct or indirect, consequential, punitive, incidental, special or general resulting from postponement or cancellation (including, but not limited to, travel). 

13. Delegates are responsible for ensuring that they have appropriate travel insurance in place and have received any required or recommended vaccinations in order to attend the Summit. 

14. One Young World cannot guarantee the safety and security of Delegates during attendance at the Summit. Delegates are responsible for ensuring their own safety and security during the Summit and in respect of any travel in connection with the Summit and whilst spending time in the Host City.  One Young World disclaims any liability for loss or damage to Delegates or their property, including bodily injury or death, unless solely attributable to the gross negligence or wilful misconduct of One Young World or one of its employees acting in their employment function.

15. The views expressed by the speakers are their own and One Young World disclaims all liability for advice given or views expressed. Documentation distributed is intended for information only and should not be relied upon.

16. One Young World’s maximum aggregate liability under or in connection with these Terms will not exceed the Fees payable to us in respect of the services giving rise to the liability.

17. We will not be liable under these Terms for any loss of actual or anticipated income or profits, loss of contracts or for any special, indirect or consequential loss or damage of any kind howsoever arising and whether caused by tort (including negligence), breach of contract or otherwise, whether or not such loss or damage is foreseeable, foreseen or known.

18. One Young World reserves the right to charge You for the cost of rectifying damage, caused by the deliberate, negligent or reckless act of the Delegate(s) to which Your Purchase relates.

19. Please note that for promotional purposes, the Summit or any part of it will be recorded by audio, visual or electronic means (“Footage”).  You agree and You agree to procure Delegates’ worldwide, irrevocable, royalty-free agreement to permit One Young World to use and distribute such Footage, which may feature Delegates’ voices and images, in all or any media, and for any purpose whatsoever.

20. To the extent a visa (or other travel authorisations) may be necessary, reasonable assistance will be given where possible in guiding the Delegates through the process, (where necessary).  However, obtaining a visa (or other travel authorisations) and provision of their own personal documentation required by relevant immigration bodies is the sole responsibility of You and the Delegate(s). One Young World will not compensate You or issue a refund if you are unable to attend the Summit due to lack of necessary travel authorisations.

21. In the event of a visa (or other travel authorisations) being denied (including but not limited to late application), the Delegate fee is forfeited in full and there is no refund.

22. Any failure or neglect by One Young World to enforce at any time any provision of these Terms shall not be construed as nor deemed to be a waiver of any of One Young World's rights under these Terms.

23. Each of the Clauses of these Terms operates separately. If any court or relevant authority decides that any of them are unlawful, the remaining Clauses will remain in full force and effect.

24. These Terms are governed by English law and in the event of any claim or dispute, the English courts shall have exclusive jurisdiction.

One Young World excludes all its liability and responsibility for any amount or kind of loss or damage that may result to You or a third party. This includes without limitation any direct, indirect, punitive or consequential loss or damages, or any loss of income, profits, goodwill, data, or loss or damage arising from or connected in any way to business interruption, and whether in tort (including without limitation negligence), contact or otherwise in connection with the site in any way or in connection with the use, results of use or inability to use the site, any websites linked to the site or materials thereon. One Young World updates this website regularly and so may change the content at any time. If the need arises, we have the option to suspend the site or to close it indefinitely.

One Young World collects and uses information about you for the provision of the Services, and to enable you to be part of the One Young World movement. If you complete any registration for a One Young World event, One Young World will collect certain information about you and use it to provide you with information and services associated with the event.

Jurisdiction and applicable law
